Wyldwood Willow

12th April
9.30am-4pm - Hedgerow
basket weaving. at Yurtworks, St Breward, Bormin Moor.
We will make a
round basket using a range of weaving techniques in willow. Although
the size of the basket you make should be small, various styles can be
experimented with.
Come and learn how to weave some fantastic insects such as butterflies and
dragonflies in the beautiful surroundings of the Monkey Sanctuary, all
materials provided. A fun activity to do with your children, then take home for
decoration in your garden.
Throughout the
day I will provide information and explain about different materials and
processes to give a basic working knowledge of basket weaving. All materials and
tools are available for students to share as well as tea and refreshments
although lunch is
generally not provided for. Please wear warm clothing and bring a stool or
cushion to sit on. If you have secateurs, penknife and bodkin, please bring them
along as this will save time in waiting for shared tools.
Basket weaving
workshops are available at a cost of £40-00 per day per person. The cost is to
include all materials, tea, coffee and homemade cake. Bookings must be made by telephone
only. Payment can be made on the day, but a deposit of £5-00 should be sent in
the form of a cheque made payable to "Wyldwood Willow" to secure you a place.
This is purely to safeguard the efficient running of the workshops, so please
check your diary before committing.
I am a member of
the Basket Weavers Associations, and have a City and Guilds 730 Teaching
Certificate.
